Vuelta Pamplona

La Vuelta Pamplona in Spain was the greatest most fun race I have ever done, and I want to thank HMT cycling team for the opportunity. Safe to say I absolutely loved racing a different style of racing and a new challenge which I felt like I needed to show my worth, which, I feel I have done. So much so I was called back to race La Philippe Gilbert classic with them on Sunday 2nd September, and again a chance to show my worth as a team player and a strong rider… (if you want to see how that played out click here).

After we arrived after a full day of travelling, the team went out for a little spin, that was meant to be easy, Continue reading “Vuelta Pamplona”

Assen Junior Tour

Where do I start? Pretty frustrating week all round really in Assen. The prologue was a good start leaving me in 19th and 8 seconds down, however, the criterium stage was a bit like ying and yang. Let me start with saying I love criteriums they are really ME, meaning they suit me rather well, with the sustained power and constant accelerations, so I was doing rather well in the first part of the race. Racking up a few Green Jersey Points with a second and 5 place in 2 sprints before the race went to pieces. A rider, who will remain nameless (partly because I don’t actually know who it was), managed to collide with Continue reading “Assen Junior Tour”

My Working Week

Ideally the week with trainSharp would have allowed me to see how they carry out their bike fits, aero testing and fitness testing. However, staff holidays and last minute appointments outside of the HQ for Jon meant that my week at trainSharp was not as busy and energy sapping as I had prepared myself for.

That is life and it has opened my eyes to how the working week can be like riding a bike. One week it can be all out, with not much time to think about much else, then comes a rest week and you almost have too much time on your hands.

Despite this, the week with trainSharp was thoroughly enjoyable and has allowed me to ponder over what my future work environment could potentially be. Although I haven’t done much, the environment in which the employees of trainSharp work really equates to my ideal work environment. Relaxed, friendly and very productive.

I don’t want to list out the days like other ‘bloggers’ might do as I feel that is very boring to read and can potentially turn off readers if done wrongly, so I will do my best to write about this week without making it into a list of “this is what I did…”

So here we go…

Back To It

Catchphrase from the weekend: ‘You know it is going to be a bloody hard race when the Belgian Champ Turns Up.’

Last Weekend, following my final GCSE examination, we finally headed out to Belgium after a long period away from what has become my second home. Throughout the exams, there were a few occasions where I couldn’t think of anything but racing in Belgium, due to the fantastic weather we experienced in Britain.

On Saturday, unfortunately the week before, (or longer as I had not checked the Cycling Vlaanderen website for a while), the race had been cancelled. Instead we went on a Pre-Race ride suggested by Trainsharp. Continue reading “Back To It”
